What is 'KOTE Dialogue'?

"Birds break out of the egg. The egg is the world. He who wants to be born must destroy the world. The bird flies towards God. The name of that God is Abraxas." - From Hermann Hesse's Demian

Key words of KOTE Dialogue: Dialogue, exchange, freedom, individuality

# Language of Dialogue

Among KOTE's various programs, KOTE Dialogue is an activity centered around language and discussion. It aims for dialogue (a two-way linguistic activity) rather than monologue (a one-sided lecture), focusing on the interactive nature of communication among participants.

# The Freedom of Exchange
The free "exchange" is both the core value and purpose of KOTE, as well as a product of its activities. Along with exchange, "freedom" is a key value that defines KOTE Dialogue. Exchange exists for the sake of freedom, and without freedom, true exchange cannot occur.

# Embracing the Creativity of Tension and Conflict
The free exchange of heterogeneous elements often leads to tension and conflict. KOTE Dialogue courageously embraces these characteristics, which are often seen negatively in Korean discourse culture, such as creative destruction and the emergence of opposing elements for dialectical unity. Just as a bird breaks out of the egg and flies toward God, those who truly create understand the secret of freedom...

# Beyond Boundaries, True Individuality
When we maximize the freedom of exchange and embrace constructive conflict, we become individuals. KOTE Dialogue aims to reveal and exchange the alternative self-creative boundaries of each individual — our thoughts, feelings, imagination, and aesthetic traits — rather than the directive boundaries that define us (such as age, gender, nationality, status, etc.).

We invite these outliers to the dialogue. Knock on the door!
